Warranty & repairs

Something not working? Here is how a claim works.

Every device we sell carries an 18-month warranty covering manufacturing defects and hardware failure in normal use — whatever condition grade you bought. Claims start through the returns portal, and the team reviews every one individually.

Making a claim

What happens after you submit

01

Submit through the returns portal

Give us your order details and describe the fault. The team reviews the information and comes back to you.

02

We send return instructions

If the device needs to come in, we tell you exactly where to send it and what to include.

03

We inspect and decide

After inspection we confirm whether the fault is covered, and advise on repair or replacement.

04

Repair or replace

Most warranty repairs are completed within a few working days of receiving the device. Complex faults can take longer, depending on parts availability.

Outside warranty

Cracked screen? Out of cover? Still fixable.

If your device is outside the 18-month period, or the fault is not something the warranty covers — a cracked screen, liquid damage, accidental damage — it can usually still be repaired.

Our repair business, Repair My Crack, handles paid repairs across the UK by post or drop-in.

Before you go elsewhere

Please contact us before arranging any repair work. An unauthorised repair or modification by a third party may void your remaining warranty — and if the fault turns out to be covered, we would rather fix it for free than have you pay someone else.

Questions

Warranty claims and repairs

What does your 18-month warranty cover?

Faults caused by manufacturing defects or hardware failure during normal use. If your device develops a covered fault within the warranty period, we assess it and provide a repair or replacement where appropriate.

What is not covered?

Accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, software issues, normal wear and tear, unauthorised repairs, and damage caused after delivery.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Submit your warranty request through the returns portal. The team reviews the information provided and guides you through the next steps.

What happens after I submit a claim?

We assess the reported fault and provide return instructions if the device needs to come in. After inspection we confirm whether the issue is covered and advise on repair or replacement.

How long do warranty repairs take?

Most are completed within a few working days of us receiving the device. More complex repairs can take longer, depending on parts availability and the nature of the fault.

Will I get a replacement while mine is repaired?

We do not normally provide temporary replacement devices during repairs. We do aim to turn repairs around as quickly as possible.

What if my device cannot be repaired?

If a covered fault cannot be repaired economically, we may offer a replacement device of the same model and condition, or an equivalent alternative where appropriate.

Is battery health covered?

Devices are supplied with a minimum 85% battery health as advertised at the point of purchase, and the battery itself is covered for 12 months. Normal battery degradation through everyday use is not treated as a warranty fault.

Can I have my device repaired elsewhere?

Not without speaking to us first. An unauthorised repair or modification by a third party may void your warranty. Contact us before arranging any repair work.

Do refurbished phones get the same warranty regardless of grade?

Yes. Every device from Used Phones 4 U carries the same 18-month warranty, whether it is graded Good or Like New.

What if my device is outside warranty?

You can still arrange a paid repair through our repair business, Repair My Crack, which covers screens, batteries and other common faults across the UK.
